ASK GOLDMAN SACHS TO GIVE IT BACK!

Goldman Sachs took billions in taxpayer bailout money that it didn't need.

We're calling on the Treasury Department to demand it back.

or CLICK on the "How To Participate" Folder in the Navigator Box on the Right Side —>

$43.33 for every man, woman and child in the country. Help us get it back!

We’d like your help in a new kind of protest. This is going to be an online protest that we can all participate in. We want to open up our protest of Goldman Sachs to everyone’s suggestions and action. Goldman took $13 billion of taxpayer money they had no right to take, as explained here. That’s $43.33 for every man, woman and child in the country. So, please help us get it back.

We want your suggestions as to how we can get the money back from them. You can write these down and share them with everybody in our new wiki protest page set up for this purpose. Then we would like you to start taking action on either your suggestions or someone else’s on the site. We have to be very polite and civil. Don’t go to their house. But if you see them in the street, by their offices in New York or DC or anywhere else (we would also like information on where all of the Goldman offices are), simply ask them for our money back.

I have an idea, and stick with me on this because it's detailed. Because the banks took government money, we all call them all "communists", and knowing the history of America, no one will allow them to have success! That will get the tea partyers behind us because if they aren't, they are supporting SOCIALISM!!!! And if Americans think the remaining tea partyers are socialists, then the right wing will stop supporting them, leading to the death of the tea party. Now with the tea parties dead, the only protests to be covered by the media would be progressive protests. These progressive protests will get so big that congress will take notice, and finally realize the pulse of the public, make tougher laws or face REVOLUCIÓN! Then wall street will bow to main street, and $50 for all! ...And if that doesn't work, I guess the tyt army could just do what they can make TYT take over the media.... whatever is easier...

The only thing that I can think of off hand is something that has never worked because not enough people were willing to do it. A Tax protest. That would mean withholding about $150 for a family of 4 from your taxes.

Non-stop (or at least very frequent) protests and sit-ins at the offices of Goldman Sachs whereever they might be. Often enough that the media would have to notice. GS would probably pay the 13B just to get rid of the bad publicity.

An organized mailing of something slightly weird to the offices of GS or the Treasury. Something strange enough to be noticed but that could have symbolism. A bird feather (where did our money fly off to?). A little rock (A Charlie Brown reference - Goldman got all the Halloween candy and all I got was a rock). 43 blades of grass for the 43 greenbacks they stole from everyone of us.

A portfolio share of equal value in the conglomerate for every taxpaying citizen. Its capitalism baby!
Advise Obama that his reelection depends on signing those earnings by force of commission to the true investor group.
An end to wealth redistribution for companies without paying citizen investors the proper liability.

-just make a movie. or some original, creative, sarcastic, etc videos containing that issue. flood youtube with that so people won't forget so fast.
-make some creative stickers (for cars etc), give it to people, spread the info..
-a banner in the sky (pulled by an aeroplane), you need an original eyecatcher
-initiate a "Draw Goldman Sachs Day" on Facebook. Or something similar.
-Stick needles into a voodoo doll
-try to convince GS by listing some advantages they would get if they pay back (like "you would be so honorable", "everybody would love you", "reputation plus = money plus" etc)

Have everyone mail GS a letter asking for our money back, or write to your congressman and see if you can get them to rattle their cage.

Or find a way to get into GS employees their face book and post on their wall, 'where's our money'? A bit unorthodox and unethical from a certain points of a view, but a suggestion none the less. However I can't stress enough not harass them as Cenk suggested even if you go this route

We could boicot Goldman Sachs share holders. Ex: If Bank of America is a GS share holder, we could ask every supporter to close their Bank of America accounton a particular date and etc... Let's make their shareholders suffer so they will demand GS to do the right thing.

short attack. Raise money and short their shares until the company fails. Do to them what they did to bear sterns. They want to let the free market decide right?

Step 1 set up something like United Shareholders of America, complete with an elected board of directors and a president.
Step 2 set up a donations date... July 4th.
Step 3 use the donations to buy shares in Goldman.
Step 4 split up the shares amongst the board members.
Step 5 show up at shareholder meetings.

Then after that, United Shareholders of America buys share in BP, and then the mainstream media.
Countless Americans would donate and continue to donate.
I would donate at least $20/month for something like that.
If every American did that, then that would be $6 billion dollars a month or $72 billion dollars a year.
Even if only 1 out of every 100 did it, then thats 720 million dollars a year.
1 in 1,000,000 is still $72,000 a year.
1 Goldman share is $131 dollars.
$72,000 is enough to put 1 share of Goldman into the hands of 550 activists that will show up at shareholder meetings.

If we can't get an honest government or honest officials, then lets buy it back.
Individually we do not have the money like the Saudi Princes or the English and Dutch Queens, but united we can give them a run for their money by buying up 100 or so shares in all the companies we want to see change in and then sending activists and protesters inside their shareholder meetings all the while holding rallies outside their walls.

FINALLY! A CONCEPT FOR A THIRD POLITICAL PARTY! Orwell's kid's got it! (Eric Orwell said at 9:24 pm on Jun 10, 2010)
<BR>
<BR>
Not only could the funds supply Goldsack with an endless string of discontented shareholders, but could field candidates in selected campaigns and throw a stick in the wheel of the two-party system.
<BR>
<BR>
I highly recommend everyone start copying and pasting this suggestion around the country and globe! Like many have posited; "The only way is to beat them at their own game." But greater still, like the man said, (paraphrasing)"If they are going to run our government like a subsidiary of their corporation, then we need to perform a hostile takeover of that minor-holding (the US government) and turn it to the advantage of, (oh, sweet jesus)

"WE THE STOCKHOLDERS!"

Ok. Here's what you do. If you own one share in Goldman Sachs you are allowed to attemd their AGM. Everyone buy a single share in them. "Goldman Sachs! We're comin' to your house." It also means you can demand certain information from them about their books etc. This has been done before. If you contact the people here http://www.markthomasinfo.com/ they'll be able to tell you how they waged a campaign against Balfour Beatty.

Sorry Eric. Just read your suggestion after writing mine. One other thing to add would be that TYT should contact the ACLU first and make sure they've got representation before the AGM. The ACLU should be able to give them information on what parameters they can work inside to have the greatest effect. After all arriving at the AGM would only be another expression of free speech in an unusual setting. The aim should be to be as disruptive as possible for as long as possible without shutting the meeting down. The meeting should only be shut down after the point is made.

Allright the treasury department is suppose to be working for us the people. Why not find out when Timmy boy is there and in his office. Hold a sit-in either inside his officecwith him or outside the doors. Make him acknowledge your there. And get him to explain why he did what he did. Ask him to work for us in getting our money back or deman his resignation.
Bring cameras, anything to record with. And don't let him leave till he explains himself. Go as far as to get arrested just keep things civalized.

Try and get Michael Moore and Rage Against the Machine to hold a concert in DC. You can get alot of people together. They did it 10 years ago at wall street.
Have speeches before and after their concerts.

Sorry, Landon Munro, but Communism is not synonymous with socialism. Socialism is a policy of sharing the wealth by taking more money from the rich and providing the poor with various programs, such as unemployment insurance, health insurance and daycare for everyone. The rich can share in the programs, too, should they have the need.

My idea would be to write your representative and senator to protest the inequalities that firms such as Goldman Sachs create by giving themselves billions of dollars in bonuses that come from the pensions and 401ks of the middle and lower classes. However, I don't think there is much hope of change unless the money used to elect officials is severely restricted or capped. Imagine one person spending $200 million to get elected!! Outrageous! Think what that money could buy in the way of services for the people.

Idea:

Print out cards/flyers with Goldman Give it Back and PUT IT IN EVERY LOCAL BUSINESS within 2 blocks of a Goldman Sachs branch so each employee can see it when they go to Starbucks during lunch and the topic can come up more often during their lunch hour LOL.

There is a recent article in July 2010 Harper's Magazine entitled, "The Food Bubble" by Frederick Kaufman. Goldman Sachs created a GS Commodity Index in the 1990s and made derivatives out of the price of wheat and in the process made themselves billions of dollars by betting on the derivative market. Mind you, they never owned one single, solitary seed! These derivatives affected the real price of wheat so that millions of (poorer) people could not afford to buy their basic foodstuffs and hence suffered hunger.

This article is worth reading. I think one of the first steps in taking action is to read everything you can about how Goldman Sachs works its magic. We need knowledge as much as we need action. There is more than enough information on the Internet and in certain magazines like Harper's and Rolling Stone. They are NOT more intelligent than we are just because they are billionaires and we have the ability to arm ourselves with the truth and confront them with knowledge and facts.

I hate to say this but the only thing i can think of that might make a difference is , a BANK RUN .
If most people took thier money out of the banks the casino cartel bankers will not have that money to gamble with .
I realize this is a desperate measure,but with the way congress is bribed by lobbyist it might be the only way to conter act the way the banking cartels do business.

Just a thought. waltip.com

Wally waltip, I like your idea. You may have seen Ally bank commercials on TV. Ally used to be GMAC The company that had to take TARP money from the US Fed in order to survive; therefore, Ally is 56% owned by the US Treasury. With such a history, why would anyone put their money in Ally even if they have the highest interest rate for savings accounts???

I try to deal with only co-ops and credit unions and do not use the Big Five (or Six).

If Goldman Sachs ever becomes a savings bank with customers off the street, I'm sure no one would put their money there.
